Overview
BirdWave is a Windows PC x64 application. It is designed to import recordings of bird songs, display the waveform & spectrogram and playback the audio track.
Bird Detection is available using the BirdNET_GLOBAL_6K_V2.4 model.(*1)
Data is imported from .WAV format files. After importing, the file information is displayed in a directory tree with structure of {Order, Group, Species}. The data is categorized using the eBird 2025 taxonomy definitions. The directory tree can also be displayed by {Year, Month, Day}, where the date refers to the recording date.
Processing options are available:
- Normalization (automatically applied).
- Cropping.
- Muting
- Filtering.
- Concatentation.
The processed data can be exported back to .WAV disk file in the PC file manager, together with a text sidecar file that contains recording and species information.
